The Family Class program allows sponsorship for spouses, dependent children, parents, and grandparents. You can sponsor a non-immediate family member in special circumstances, such as the adoption of your niece or nephew.
Can I sponsor my spouse if I have been married before?
If you are divorced, then you can apply for a spousal sponsorship. However, if you were an applicant for spousal sponsorship in the last 5 years preceding the application, then you are not eligible for a spousal sponsorship.
Can I apply for work permit with spousal sponsorship?
You may be eligible for an open work permit if you have applied through spousal sponsorship.
